Afan Trip
it was mentioned today about riding at Afan soon, and I remembered one of the places we stayed before. Its Self catering and sleeps either 6 or 8 people in shared rooms log cabins, and works out at about £40 for the Friday and Saturday.
http://www.landaoutdoorcentre.co.uk/pricing.php
I haven't checked the availability. They're within riding distance of the Penhydd trail and the wall but a bit further for the Glencorryg site so may have to drive.
They even do a catering package of £30 for 2 breakfasts and 2 Dinners.
We could discuss it at Clubnight on Tuesday if anyone is up for it, but it may be worth doing soon as we rode it in November a couple of years ago and was still nice then

Re: Afan Trip
Have also found this place which we also stayed at and is rideable to Penhydd and Wall trails , there are doing and triple rooms and there is a restaurant attached too, with Cornflakes for breakfast in the teacups.

This is a bit more expensive than the other place

Re: Afan Trip
A few of us have camped at http://www.glyncorrwgponds.com
The showers and cafe facility are good. The cafe is open till late and serves beer (I think). There's a bike shop on site too.
Depending on when this is finalised for I might come down and join you for a day but I'd either drive down and back that day or camp the night before.

Re: Afan Trip
Next you'll be getting those motorcycle heated handlebar grips and hooking them up to a dynamo on your bike!
or a flyscreen
or a heated saddle.....
but it was chuffin' cold this morning.

Just heard back from the L & A centre, they've got several cabins for both 6 and 8 berth available so at the moment we've got 7 people as below, plus Brian and Chris may come up and camp on the Saturday night, let me know if you want to come. They also do a meal deal for 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners, sample below the names

I'm in Simon. How much and when/where do you want the money. Catering sounds good, are we going to go for this?

Re: Afan Trip
I'm a bit green about organising a trip , but I guess the best thing is send me a cheque made out to the L & A Centre and then I can send it on to them , and can go from there, but any guidance from Club Secretariat would be greatfully received.
I still haven't had any proper confirmation from the centre but I'm hoping they'll ring me soon , it seems to be me doing all the chasing at the moment.
As it stands thats 8 people

So that's enough for an 8 berth Cabin, for the Friday 26th-Saturday 27th October, on the Sunday we can perhaps leave and ride at Glencorryg and use the showers there after the ride.
Maybe we can do The wall and the Penhydd on the Saturday and then either the Whites level or Skyline on the Sunday , maybe that's too ambitious
