Ermm
What is this and what does it involve?
May be interested and able to come but I may be a bit green for it
Any one want to explain in language that I will understand?
I only learnt what a hard tail was last weekend so go easy on me!

Basically its a huge event organised to get like minded Mountain Bikers together for a mass ride. Not classed as a race, but 50% of the people who do it treat it as one. There is usually around 2 - 3k riders.
Basically there are 4 different distances you can choose from. 25k, 50k, 75k and 100k.
Generally they are a good laugh, but its something you would enjoy more if you rode it with someone who is of a simialr pace, otherwise you end up riding it on your own, chatting with randoms along the way. If you are struggling, theres nothing worse than struggling on your own with no-one to winge and moan at !!!
Have a go, they are good fun.

Kickstand Mike or Laura tend to do the shorter events , so you could do the 25k event with them

Hello Pinky
We haven't met yet but by the name I hope you aren't going to be too much competition when it comes to pink!
Danny and I are doing the Merida in Builth and are doing the mini 25K if you want to join us. We do it for fun not for speed and did our first Merida in Ruthin at the end of May this year. We are now hooked!

Re: Builth Merida 5 & 6 July
Thanks every one,
Tried to get on web-site but cannot access it for some reason (I have love hate relationship with my computer)
Caroline,
Thank you for the offer, sounds like fun, and I am really gonna try to come as I don't have my kids over night on the Saturday.
Are you out on Sunday? I'll try and catch up with you then if you are- I'll explain in a bit more detail.
Oh, and my bike stuff isn't pink, although I was dared by one of my friends to jazz my bike up with kids girly pink stuff when I first went out for a ride with cyclone but I bottled it! I'll explain 'Pinky' when I see you. But I might just change Pinky to disaster zone - as I have just over ran the bath, fused all the lights as well as broken my washing machine - in the time it has taken to write this
