Turbo Training
I've done the odd spinning class and I am happy enough to spin the crank whilst on the turbo trainer trying to keep up with left right left in time to 45 mins of 167BPM music but.... I think I need to do intervals etc and put some variation in.
Now I am not the 'lets exercise and stretch in front of the video' type but has anyone seen/used this type of training DVD? Just thinking the winter months...

Re: Turbo Training
Lil Gav is an advocate of Turbo training and looking on www.cyclingforums.com they rate these DVD's quite highly. Its really about deciding what you want to do with the sessions, ie anerobic threshold/lactate threshold , aerobic threshold etc, which is what Turbo trainers are best for doing as it will bore your tits off doing longer than an hour. Sally Edwards does a couple of excellent books on the subject

Re: Turbo Training
Sorry Si.
I have to agree with Paul. I haven't done any serious turbo-ing for a few years now.
Like the man say's.....it's dull dull dull
Now Brian will tell you a different story, he's a big fan and even uses his
in the summer months to help with the time trial training.
As for me I'm not that serious/keen. Like to ride my bike for fun these
days. I'm an old man now !

Re: Turbo Training
Some of the guys in my local roadie club use them alot. It seem its like Marmite... you either lurve it or hate it. The addition of road riding has improved my MTBing this year
I just found out that my roadie club run winter turbo sessions for 90 mins. They hire a venue a few nights a week across the winter, you turn up with your road bike and turbo trainer and spin ya nuts off whilst some loon shouts at you
I get on OK with mine, whack up the beat mixed music and try to keep a left pedal right pedal in time with 167 beats per min = cadence around 80. That's the theory.
Think I'll try a Spinerval video to add a bit of spice... If I ever invite you to a slide show of the latest Shimano gear with a small serving of carrot cake and a lime cordial then shoot me
