Between 12-14 hour days but around 8-10 actually on the saddle. Yes we did have long lunches.

Blimey, thats about 40 miles a day, a bit like doing a merida every day for 5 days, have you got a GPS version of the route available for download.
That's good going to do it in that many days, I did the C2C Whitehaven-Tynemouth last year with a mate and we did a detour to skiddaw on the 1st day which meant it was 50 miles . The 2nd day was an absolute beasting with massive climbs sprinkled through the day, the worst being the 2 mile climb to the B & B where we were staying, but in hindsight it was better to do it then than in the morning after breakfast.
I'm gonna start looking at the calender to do some rides during the winter to have something to aim at, and give me a benchmark.
