Scotland Trip 22nd to 31st August
I have offered to organise the Scotland Trip this year. Graham did such a fantastic job last year I have my work cut out to beat his organisational skills, but I shall try my best. (Graham you will be getting an email from me as a cry for help...hope you don't mind!)
We visit all the Seven Stanes trails, which have a lot of great single track, staying in shared, comfortable accommodation (no camping!), with a mixture of self catering and a few meals out to keep the costs down. (There will be a cooking rota, but don't let that put you off as cookery lessons are included....ask Andrew!)
For more details of last years trip (and photos) ask myself, Laura, Fizz, Gav, Andrew or Graham. (Or anyone that has been on previous years trips).
So, to start with I wanted to gauge the level of interest so I can find suitable accommodation. So far we have:
Me
Danny
Laura
Mike
Fizz
Gav
Andrew
Phil (showing interest)
Please reply to this message or email me directly if you have any questions.
You'll love it!

Re: Scotland Trip 22nd to 31st August
Book me in for Bonnie Scotland too! The trails there are the best In Europe and I can't miss out another year!
Give me a chance to try out my `new` steed aswell!
If I can remember how to do it!

Re: Scotland Trip 22nd to 31st August
OK so this is the plan so far.
I have managed to book accommodation for the first five nights at Barend where we stayed last year.............but with a twist!
Due to the slightly delayed organisation, school holidays, bank holiday week, more takers than expected..........I think that's enough excuses for now, I have come up with the following:
1 chalet with a double and a twin room and then a cottage just near the entrance to the holiday village. The cottage has a master room with BATH (that's ours then!....the organiser has to have some perks! I'll rent it out!) and 2 twin rooms, with an additional Z bed in each. It has a pool table in the lounge a laundry room and apparently is very nice. Both have bike storage and a sea view.
This means that the following 10 people that have said they are definites have a bed.
Me
Danny
Fiz
Gav
Mike
Laura
Andrew
Big Gav
Ian
Aaron
The next 2 out of the maybies will get a Z bed at a reduced rate, but if all 6 are in and anyone else, I might be able to get another chalet.....but we'll have to be quick!
The maybes I have are :
Woody, Phil, Andy, Andrew's Friend and 2 of our friends.
The cost so far for the first 5 nights will be £115 pp with a bed and £80 for the Z beds. I have a few possibles for acommodation for the last 3 nights that should be around the same price per night £21 - £25 per night but it will be easier to book once I have a more exact number committed.
As it's only 11 weeks away I will need some money to secure your place. Please send me a private email with all your details so I can contact you and I can send you my address to send the money to.
I ask for a £60 non refundable deposit by next Sunday the 14th to secure your place. Please respond so I know you have read this message.

More ways to keep in touch with 7stanes
7stanes blog
There's always plenty going on around the 7stanes but we sometimes struggle to fit the details onto the website or into our newsletters. So to give us somewhere to let you know what else we get up to around the 7stanes, we've set up a blog at
http://7stanes.blogspot.com .
The plan is to keep the 7stanes website for general info, main news items, trail conditions and so on, but to use the blog to bring you more quirky stuff, items from trailbuilders and rangers, events reports and the like. You can of course comment on what's there, so let us know if there's anything you think we should be doing.
Follow 7stanes on Twitter
You can also keep up to speed with what's going on by signing up to follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/7stanes .
Rate our trails online
We've set up a rate this trail feature on each of the trail pages on the 7stanes website. You can mark any trail out of 5 and leave a comment. Let us know what you think. Note that comments are moderated, but constructive criticism is welcome!
Ae Forest closed to riders Saturday 27th June
The Scottish Motor Rally is taking place in Ae Forest on Saturday 27th June. The forest will be exempted from access rights from 0600 to 2000. The mountain bike trails will be closed and no riding can take place within any part of Ae. Apologies for any incovenience this causes. Mabie and Dalbeattie are nearby alternatives.
Until next time - happy riding!

Membership fees for the Scotland Trip.
It's been bought to my attention that some occassional riders that have shown an interest in the Scotland trip have not paid their membership for the year.
As the trip is a club organised event, everyone needs to be covered by the insurance that is included in the membership fee. So if you are one of the guilty few please send your membership fee along with your deposit to secure you place.
Many thanks.

Hi Caroline,
I've read this, all seems good to me ! How can I get the deposit to you? I'm intending to be riding on Sunday, but wouldn't want to miss out if I ended up unable to make it.
