this friday race
*FNSS Kilworth Springs Golf Club (KSGC)*
This is the 4th time we have run this event at KSGC and each time the hospitality has been fantastic.
So just to remind everyone we have,
1 Full use of the changing facilities including male and female showers
2 All visitors welcome in the club house for tea/coffee soft drinks and full use of bar (have to pay yourself)
3 Bar meals avaliable from sandwiches/bowls of chips/or hot meals such as baked potatoes and all usual pub type fare at very resonable prices
4 Might even see on the big TV the nesting barn owl chicks (their roosts fitted with camera’s)
Please make full use of their kind hospitaliy and make an evening of it.

Re: Friday night summer series
tomorrow Race
i hope to see some of you there as i did not make last Tuseday and to see fizz win it again good luck fizz .
i do not know what this one is like so i am just gooing to injoy this one .
here is what i found out so far on the web site
if any person want a lift please let me Know by 8 today ..
We’ve been busy with the layout at West Lodge so expect some changes from the previous years courses.
The start is in a similar place just down from last years, then it’s straight into the quarry section from a new entrance. through the quarry on a rutted section so you will need to get ahead of any rivals before this part. All the way to the end of the quarry this time and into a small new wooded section, claimed as “Jacks wood”!
From there it’s out onto a wide grass section and round the side of the quarry in more of a loop than other years. then a short section of very wide contra flow (mush shorter than last year so no overtaking problems). Then it’s into witches wood which is the normal wide twisty good surfaced section, but this time you’ll be doing it in reverse.
Back onto the contraflow to see just who your leaving behind, then a long loop back to the start area before doing it all again.
There is a small bit of mud on one uphill section, but generally it’s firm and fast, and we think you’ll enjoy the changes.
Remember, if your a spectator intending to go into the wooded section to watch, make sure you bring some insect repellant, there are some greedy critters in there
If you haven’t been to West Lodge before; the Sign on/ start and the course is about 500 metres from the carpark, you’ll probably want to ride up to race sign on rather than walk if you are in a rush.

Re: Friday night summer series
That was a really tough race. I really didn't enjoy the first 2 laps. really need to get there earlier next time so i can do a warm up lap.
Well done woody for finishing the race despite 2 punctures and a rear mech failure.
Woody, how the hell did you manage 5 laps?
I'll be there next week....

Re: Friday night summer series
Woody,
I think they may have added one on for determination and the run to the line with your bike. Very well done, fair play to you. I stopped after my one and only puncture!

results :- http://fnssmtb.com/archives/1063
It was a good fun course, tho I think next time a warm up and possibly even a practice lap might be needed. Riding the first lap blind with people crowding out the narrow trail was interesting.

Re: Friday night summer series
Who is thinking of taking part in the race this Friday in Northampton? Should be damn good fun even if it rains. If it is the same as last year then it will be a fast course mostly consisting of wooded single track. See you all there .
