Cycle Yorkshire - Guided Ride
Guys, 6 of us travelled tup North at the weekend for a guided ride around the Ogden Water area, courtesy of Iain Johnson from Cycle Yorkshire.
It was a top day out. The scenery up there is breath taking, as you can see from the pictures below. We stayed in a Youth Hostel in Howarth for £20 including a HUGE fry up !! The hostel is idealy place as we started and finished the ride from there. Although Jase did get a little scared as he thought it was haunted !!
I would recommend you guys drop Iain a line if you are thinking about riding in the area, as he knows some great trails. The riding is completely different to what we are used to in Woburn Sands, there are rock gardens, very techy ascents and descents, moor land single track and some cracking pubs that sell proper beer (according to Graham anyhow! )
One particular high point was the descent down "Stairs Lane" where Darren, Jim and I clocked 32 mph...whilst taking on rocks the size of shoe boxes and about 3 x 2ft drops on the way !!! FANTASTIC !!
clicky for picky
Big thanks again to Iain Johnson, as he kindly donated the guided ride as a prize for the X-mas raffle where all funds went to the Russ Pinder / Air Ambulance appeal. Thanks Iain !
Also thanks to Dazzler for choosing the Super 6. I think we all agree we had a good crack..........also, where did Smegger get his new legs from !!
See you on the hill.

Re: Cycle Yorkshire - Guided Ride
Yeah thanks to Darren for a brilliant weekend, we all went to bed early on the Saturday as we were wasted.
The Sunday was a tad wet but another brilliant ride led by both Iain and Graham's friend Julie , who is a machine. We did some fantastic stuff across rock gardens and steps or should I say Darren Iain and Julie did. We didn't even get a Cafe stop and were out until 3 o'clock. ITS MEANT TO HURT

Hands up for Stainburn?
YouTube clip
Not me in the film I hasten to add.
I am still bearing the scars from my visit a year ago (note to self: take flats and shin pads) but welcome a rematch with some one who knows what they're doing.
