Welsh Weekend Away - Accomodation/Itinery
Welcome everyone who is making our first weekend `breeze` away to deepest darkest Wales!
Accomodation:
We shall be staying right in the heart of Wales in Machynlleth (extra points for its pronouncing it correctly) in the Craig Y Deri Bunkhouse.
www.madianquads.co.uk/craigderi.htm
We are booked in for 3 nights from Friday onwards.
There are 3 rooms in the bunkhouse (so ladies take some pyjamas).
I do not mind how we share the rooms but I may suggest splitting up the couples and having a Boys/Girls Dorm!
It is self-catering although there is a local cafe for breakfast, etc.
Linen, etc is inclusive in the price, but you may wish to take a sleeping bag.
On the day we may put some money in a kitty for breakfast but in the evenings there are plenty of good places for grub, including a great chippy!
Itinery:
We don`t have to ride on Friday Day 1 but if we do we can ride either Mach 1 or Mach 2 trails from the town.
Sat Day 2 Cli-Max Trail & Mach 3. am Cli-Max pm Mach 3
*Cli-Max is a short ride with a fast technical descent at the end. Mach 3 is `raw` and three times its distance. 26m*
Sun Day 3 DRIVE TO: Nant-y-Arian trails (Choice of 2/3 rides with lunch stop)
*Lots of variety in Nant. Bit like a mini Scotland.*
Mon Day 4 DRIVE TO: Coed-y-Brenin Trawllch Trail
*Who knows!*
We may wish to try a different trail on Monday dependant on people commitments. ie Brechfa, Penmaccho.
Here`s to a fab weekend! Any questions give me a bell or see me at the pub Club Night, Tuesday.
Cheers!

Re: Welsh Weekend Away - Accomodation/Itinery
Gav,
Looking forward to the weekend. Have some questions which I'd be grateful if you could respond
The URL link that you have posted does not work
I am planning on travelling from Rhyl (parents house) and meeting up with the group on Saturday morning, can you confirm the approximate time that you will be leaving for the ride? I will be staying on Saturday & Sunday night, so will need a "bunk".
Can you send me a text to 07881 922067 so that I have your mobile phone number.
Does the "bunk house" have any form of heating?
Cheers
Paul

Re: Welsh Weekend Away - Accomodation/Itinery
Looking at the forcast today I will be riding everyday.
What time are we starting in the mornings?
I should be there in the morning, leaving home very early to miss traffic going to try and get there before all the caravans
I have to drive past Mach first though as I have to drop a windsurf board off for a friend in Borth just down the road(someone buying a new board aways kills the wind).
