AMBER WARNING of RAIN

Following Tuesday's rain, a spell of heavy and persistent rain is likely to cross parts of southern, southwest and central England along with southeast Wales during the first half of Wednesday. The rain should gradually ease from the west during the morning.

The public should be prepared for the risk of flooding and possible disruption to transport at first on Wednesday morning.

The warning has been upgraded to AMBER for parts of Devon and the West Country where the greatest impacts are expected from the heavy rain.

Valid on Wednesday from 0005 until 1300

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN

A band of heavy rain is expected to move east across Scotland on Thursday.

Following recent heavy rain across the south and west of Scotland the public should be aware that this may lead to localised flooding and possible disruption to transport.

The rain will be accompanied by a strong and gusty southerly wind.

Valid on Thursday from 0005 until 1800.
