Milton Keynes - Circular Ride - Thursday 23rd June
By popular request, I'm going to guide a bunch around a Milton Keynes circular ride that I do quite often on Thursday 23rd June.
It's 99% dirt track or redway / footpath, all of which are part of the MK cycle network. I have changed & enhanced the route over the past couple of years to add some variety, but in essence it can be seen here.
First meeting place will be outside Bargain Booze, Marsh End Road, Newport Pagnell at 19:00. Then we can swing by the following to pick up others along the way, at various point around the city. (in order)
Roman Villa - Bancroft (approx 19:15)
Concrete Cows (19:20)
MK Bowl (by bridge over the A5 across to Bleak Hall) - 19:40
OK garage, Peartree Bridge (showing my age, is now a car wash) - about 19:50
Cricket Pavillion car park, Campbell Park - about 20:00
It will be approx 15 miles round. I will ride it twice, so as to show everyone a full lap back to where they started.
So far we have:
little Gav
Darren
Jase MK
Phil
Brian from Bozeat
If you guys could confirm if you are coming , I would be grateful.
Any others are welcome to join, as long as you can keep a reasonable pace for the distance.
Cheers
Kurt

Re: Milton Keynes - Circular Ride - Thursday 23rd June
I would liked to have come, but currently dont have a functioning bike which is kind of essential
Got my new frame yesturday (Santa Cruz Chameleon) went to build it up to discover that my fork steerer was too short. Old frame had integrated headset, this one has an external.
So gotta buy new forks before Im riding again.
So if anyone with a frame with integrated / zero stack headset wants some new forks I will be selling my 2011 Revelation RLT Dual Air 150mm forks, which are only 1 month old.

Due to an unfortunate bout of extreme tooth ache it appears the calendar may be up for a change.
Darren, can you call me later and let me know what time you will be heading over to the bowl, I should be able to make it.

Re: Milton Keynes - Circular Ride - Thursday 23rd June
Glad you enjoyed it Darren. It's a good little loop to do if you fancy getting out for an hour or so and blasting out some cobwebs.
Phil, we'll do it again soon mate for sure. Will probably organise a ride over to Winslow soon too

Not wanting to be left out.....................Thanks Kurt, a very enjoyable ride.
As for imprinting the route in my brain to try later, it's more like the scene in Star Trek when they go Warp speed, it's all a bit of a blur. Just the sort of ride I needed to push myself. Looking forward to getting out and doing it again!

Nice one Martin.
I'm sure I saw you klingon-ing to Captain Kurt begging to be beamed up as he went warp speed yelling sheilds up set phasers to stun.
