Trip
Hello
Sorry I didn't make it this week again. Just felt the knee needed a little longer.
I have a couple of weeks off following the easter weekend (26th April to 6th may) and wondered if anyone fancied a few days trip/camp somewhere. Wales, scotland or similar. I'm no pro so bare that in mind, but at the moment I have 2 weeks and not a lot planned so would be great to arrange something. Let me know what you think. Quite fancy doing some route if there is one anyone fancies. What's the coast to coast like?
Thanks
Hannah

Re: Trip
Hi Hannah,
Also anyone else who might be interested.
We are planning a day trip to Cannock on the Monday of the Easter weekend.
The following Royal weekend I've suggested a trip to South Wales and ride Afan. So far I think I have 4 interested. Its Camping as we are trying to keep the cost down. Although Caroline may be booking into a B&B? Holla if you'd like a pitch. Gotta be quick though as they are going as fast as tacky Royal wedding mugs.
The Cyclone Committee had a little meet last night to plan this summers trips and hopefully the calendar will be up dated very soon.

Hey Gav,
If you think I'm good enough then count me in. I'm more of a camping it type. What dates are you going. Is it a bring your own tent job?
Also I'll be up for cannock too as long as the knee is.
Cheers

Re: Trip
Hi Bedfordlad,
Sorry to have to say that in the interest of safety and our liability under the terms of our insurance cover away trips are only for both fully paid up and vetted members.
Please come along and do a few of the weekly Sunday rides with us first. Then I'm sure we'll be glad to have you along to one of the other rides later in the Spring/summer.

Re: Trip
Ok here goes. In a effort to muddle things even more I'm still going to Cannock on Saturday as meeting up with friends from North Wales & Chester Mountain bikers/Planet lala . Anyone who can't make Monday and who still want to ride on the Saturday is welcome. Meeting at 10am.
As the late great Peter Cook would say "You should be careful, you could confuse a stupid person"
Mark, you are welcome to stay at mine Friday night after drinkies and head off from Stony first thing.
Confused.

Re: Trip
In your previous post you mentioned that if people cant make the Sunday ride, then they could come on saturday, which is what confused me, as it said Cannock was on Monday in the Calendar

Re: Trip
Hey Gav,
You also added an entry to the calendar for the 29th of May titled royal wedding weekend. I'm all for any reason to visit a welsh trail center, does this mean we have another trip ?
So far we have:-
1: Gav's cannock trip 23rd April
2: Cannock trip redux 25th April
3: Afan trip 29th April - 1st May? - (is this an open to all unofficial trip?)
4: Afan trip 29th May?

Re: Trip
Hi Aaron,
Re the unoffical ride posting 29th April - 2nd May. My apologies, this was a case of crossed wires between the organiser and myself. Its not an open ride and is by invitation only, as has already I believe been made aware to you. It should'nt have been entered into the calendar, infact it was delisted earlier in the week. I'm sure you understand as we all arrange trips with fellow riders who's company we enjoy or who ride at the same sort of pace, don't we. I would'nt wish to discourage this.
As for the the other calendar listed rides they are open to all current members, obviously depending upon their skill level. This seems like a perfect opportunity yet again for senting out what exactly constitutes a club member and the terms of membership.
A club member being a person who has paid their membership, ie new member or renewing member. We all have to pay membership be we standard member, committee member, chairperson or founder member. Even BG & myself pay, there are NO exceptions. New members may join at anytime however if a persective new member is joining towards the end or beginning of a year we will usually allow a short period of grace. Renewal subs are due in February and Caroline posts a polite online reminder. We assume a laspe in payment means you no longer wish to ride with the club as such you are no longer entitled to take part in club events. Club events being both trips away and local rides etc.
We are at present experiancing a higher than average turn out attending the Sunday local rides. If this situation continues as it often tends to at this time of year and into the summer months we shall be declining leading rides to previous members who have failed to renew should we consider these rides to be over attended.
Once again I apologies for any previous confusion with the calendar.
Happy biking.
Gav
