HELP putting picture on my profile

Can any one help, I want to put a piccy on my profile.
I have read the 'tips' bit and it says 'how to post a thread' but am not sure if this is what I'm wanting. What is a thread any way?

Go to the profile section, click on the avatar link on the top line, then click on the browse button and find the picture you want to use on your computer then click open, all should be well .

BTW I think I have beat your record for faling off last Thursday, 4 times and I have just got back from A&E where they were pleased to inform me I have a cracked rib .

I saved an image from internet in Word document. Should I save it as something else?
Or can I copy it straight from the internet?

PS - as I have to have a chance to win at SOMETHING -
I think there should be a point system based on how often someone falls off during a ride - like a point per fall, points for injury's and u get more points for riding with an injury. I think you'd be in the lead - cos you biked today WITH a cracked rib, that needs a pat on the back (not hard enough to hurt your rib though)

OK Pinky here we go,

When you find the image on the web don't cut and paste it, place the cursor on it, right click the mouse and select save as. Put it into My Pictures (or any other folder you like) then follow the instructions to insert on forum. Easy Peasy .

PS computers are horrible, they were only invented to ruin our day!

Tip; if when you try this you still have problems try it with a picture you alreay have in you computer or search through the list of avatars that are available in the profile section by clicking show gallery then you just need to get the second part down....
