Re: We have a winner
Thanks Guys!
It was a good evening event, and I have to say special thanks to Simon and Finely for being excellent route markers close to the last climbs..good motivation!
The first lap was prety chock-a-block with people haing to walk/slide over the off camber muddy sections and short sharp ups into the bowl. All very fast and furious - the guy next to me on the start line fell off in the first 10m as we all hooned away and I think some people even rode over him!
I did enjoy the chase and would have had a faster time if I didn't have to go back to the car on the second lap to fix my seatpost and take off a layer.. Unfortunately, Ceri got a puncture half way through the first lap.
Anyone interested in a simlar kind of cross country race in Black Park, Iver (Bucks) on the 8th June? 'a good techinical fast flat 2.5mile circuit ideally suited for all'.
There are the usual youth, fun, open, vet categories - even singlespeed if youare keen.. between 5 and eight laps for different categories.
Racing starts at 9.30 for youth and onwards from then..
There will be a special team award in both the mens and the womens open events for the first three riders from any club team shop count highest positions overall.. teams must pre-enter
This event is promoted by West Drayton MBC who organised the 70k offroad the other week and was very professional.. though I can' find many easy details on their website, it was just a flyer we picked up when Gav and I had finished the ride.
www.mbsawebsite.co.uk is where the online entry is.

Fizz, yours and LG,s times are on an XL spreadsheet on the West Drayton website. Go down the home-page to MTB Races/ Bucks classic i think it was. The times are out but i guess thats the same for everyone. Also, check out mike conway photography as he took pix of people on the course.

Re: We have a winner
Good point, it doesnt allow for the times i got lost either. I rode in at the same time as my buddy and got a slower time than him, something he now crows about constantly!!! Really enjoyed the day though, well organised. They got an event in September that i want to do. Fun cat only, not a racing diva like some on here
