Road Ride From Markyate Saturday 15th December

Guys


As discussed briefly at the club night on Tuesday, I am going to guide a road ride on Sat 15th December starting at Markyate where Kath and I live.

We will probably do around 40 miles incorporating a nice cafe stop. It's a really good loop with no major roads which everyone should enjoy.

Are you heading out Ashridge way like you said at club night? Where you having the cafe stop?
I may take a more direct cross country root with nobbly tires and meet up for a cafe stop

Could this be the first ever (since I've been a member anyway!) successful club road ride

Road Ride Markyate Saturday 15th December

Yes its still on and looking good with a nice stop for tea and cakes in Studham, hopefully the weather will be ok! We will meet at our house at 10am and go from there.

Two miles south of Dunstable on the A5, right into Markyate, all the way down the high street, past supermarket on the right, past the fire station, turn right onto William Street with hairdressers on the corner, left onto George Street at the top of the short hill. Our street is very small so it will probably better if you park on the high street and ride up to George Street. Dave's is the first house on the left and ours is the second on the left with the red garage.

County = 3 points

I think you should award points to say the top 3 or 4. E.g. 1st = 4 points, 2nd = 3 points etc. Otherwise you’ll only have one or two people ‘racing’ for the signs as there is no incentive for others to go for it.
