Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
Guys, I was asked a few months back to create some trails for the guys at Trailbreaks, who are organising the Evans Offroad Trailrides and the Sunday Sportive Road Rides. The offroad is on the Saturday and the Road is on the Sunday. (16th / 17th of June)
Full story here
They offer 3 routes from 15 - 30 miles
Anyhow, Trailbreaks have asked if we could offer volunteers to man the 2 drinks stations on route. One on the Sunday and one on the Saturday. I have asked what 'incentives' there will be for members and Phil is getting back to me. I'm sure we could get free tickets for those who help out (Normally £12 and you get a free OS map, energy bars, drinks etc)
Does anybody fancy helping out? Be good to get the club on the map.
Dates are the 16th and 17th June
Thanks
Nath

Re: Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
I’m off on holiday about mid day on the Saturday so can’t help with the actual event.
However, could help marking the course out early Saturday morning if needed.

Nath, count me in. As I'm about to become a dad for the first time my only incentive would be to take a few energy drinks home with me!!! Would prefer Sunday but am flexible.

Re: Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
OK cool. Phil at Trailbreaks is after the following help:
2 riders to help out with general stuff on the Saturday (16th) Offroad ride - £50 each for the full day.
2 riders to sweep the Offroad trail to ensure there are no markers / riders left out on the trail. No money on this one, just a few free tickets for the road ride / other events.
2 people to man the drinks station for 4 hours on the Sunday (17th) - £30 each for 4 hours.
Tezza said he would be up for drinks on the Sunday. Swampi is a possible for both Sat help and Sunday drinks.
Anyone else interested?
Should also be getting some good publicity for the club on the websites.

Re: Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
Nath, you can have my "fee;" would be better off in the Cyclone coffers than my pocket. As long as I get a couple of energy drinks out of the day thats fine. Hopefully someone will advise me what I should be doing, otherwise I,ll end up trying to launch them at the riders as they go past!!!

Re: Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
Cheers Terry, I'll do you a deal, I'll get some Cyclone shirts printed and give you that instead.
Talking of launching water bottles:
I remember seeing a clip from the TDF a few years back when Lance launched one of his water bottles into the crowd and it hit some poor unsuspecting French spectator full on the face and knocked him on his a55!! Very funny!!

Re: Evans Ride days / Trailbreaks
Nath, if push comes to shove I can bring along a pal to assist. He rides up there all the time anyway so is familiar with the area. Just give me some details- where, when etc and I,ll organise help...
