JIM !!!!
Jim, saw this on STW. Thought it would be a good buy. You could swap you wheel set and brakes over no probs.

Re: JIM !!!!
Jim got it for £270 !!
I reckon all he needs is the following:
Front Wheel
Rear Wheel
Front & Rear Disc
Shifters (this set comes with Dual Control bad boys)
All for £250
Its Disc Set 9 here:
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/acatalog/Disc_Brake_Kits.html
2 x tyres
Andy has loads of new tyres. Hes the rubber man!
1 x Cassette
1 x Chain
All for £25 (buy as a set)
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/acatalog/Cassettes.html
1 x Set of cables
£8
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/acatalog/Cables.html
1 x Rear Mech
£30
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/acatalog/Front_and_Rear_Mechs.html
So a total of £318 for brand new Shimano LX components, with Dual Control Levers and oily stoppers, all set for the hills and drops. Plus convert your Giant into a Singlespeed for the winter months of gloop!! !!!
I don't reckon you can bit that wheelset / shifter / brake deal. Even if you bought a wheelset (£90), levers £30, brakes £110 you still only £20 short !! Plus they are dual control.
Anyone think of anything else?

Re: JIM !!!!

Right my trek Fuel 80 frame (2005) is on it's way.
Alex the top bloke that he is!!!
Has done me a massive favour by matching some of the prices on the Merlin website.
Now there is abit of confusion, I was under the impression that the frame was a 2006 one but it isn't!! So I was given advise by Alex mate @ Trek that the frame would take this fork no problems (my fault by giving him duff info);
http://www.fisheroutdoor.co.uk/public/index.php/product/forks/rockshox/tora_rock_shox_forks/RS021000.html
But I'm now worried that there will be to much travel/length on the fork as it can be adjusted from 85mm upto 130mm , an Jase and Nath reckon the frame will only take a 80mm fork. What probs if any will an extra 5mm cause??????
HELP!!!!

Re: JIM !!!!
Jim, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had Rock Shox SIDs on my Litespeed which had 80mm geometry. Then I through 100mm Rebas on and to be honest it didn't feel any different.
On a full suss you prob wont notice 20mm, let alone 5mm. As the pivots should sort the lonher reach, and it shouldn't be as predominent.

I wouldn't bother - you'll have to change the chainset too. I've got that chainset on my bike, and very nice it is too.
Nice frame BTW.

Infact thanks everyone for all your advise, it's nice to think that i can come on here and ask some "Nooby" question and not get the piss completely ripped out of me.
Or are you just waiting to do that tomorrow morning????

Re: JIM !!!!
Agree with Tom, just keep it and think about changing when it wears out.
Apparantly sq taper BB's last longer than others e.g. splined but aren't quite as stiff.
