Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Hey Guys
Just noticed that this event has been moved to September but is still brilliant, its 3 days of guided rides at LLanwyrtd Wells at £15 per day, this usually includes a barbeque on the Saturday night.
Some of the "OLD SKOOL" Cyclone guys have done this and its superb, its usually about 15-20 miles 1st day ,then 30-35 on Saturday with a shorter ride on the Sunday. The Saturday ride usually goes through the Doethe Valley which was voted top ten ride in Britain a couple of years ago on MBR, I think one of the Meridas did it a while back too which Speedy Daz may be able to confirm.
So put it in your diary

Re: Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Yep one of the merdia's last year done the Dothie valley. A really great trail just shame it was 40km in and I was getting tired!
Re: Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Yeah its worth it just to ride the Dothie valley. Fantastic scenery, just don't let your front wheel drift off the edge
The ice cream van parked on the dam is always worth stopping for, don't you think Si?

Re: Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Hi Si,
I'm planning on riding the Redkite bash if it doesn't clash with something else...............as the dates seem unclear.
When I looked the dates for the event are 6-8th August, where did you see September Si?
Its not on the Green Events site. Heres the link to the entry form I found

Re: Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Hey TWB
Thats weird the only link I can find now is for the dates you said, maybe they moved it as it clashed with the Ruthin Merida, as the guys who guide this also are involved in the Merida rides too and have previously clashed.

I think I've realised my error, I think I've had a brainfart and you're right, lol

We all have our moments Si, it would have been a real shame to miss it due to an oversight
I'm planning on camping on the rugby field so hopefully you and a few others are up for that and it could turn out to be a cool old skool weekend
It would be good to have a catch up Si, see you soon, Mark
As for the Tour....... GOOOOOOO THOMAS!!!!

Re: Red Kite Festival 19th September 2010
Ok, just so your all in the loop. I've managed to get hold of Lee "you MK boys are always looking for the next roundabout" Davies, old skool Cyclone members will know Lee, won't they Bg/Si Muddybaks.com have folded. Lee has give me the number for Stuart who runs Llanwrytd Wells MTB club who are apparently now organising the event.
I've sent Stuart a message asking if its still on and tried to call, no reply as yet.
Watch this space, I'll keep you all informed as and when I know.
