North Downs Ride - Sunday 18th April
Hello - some of you may remember me as the one with the yellow bike (Nicolai).
Myself and Roy Brown will be leading a ride in the North Downs (Holmbury St Mary), Surrey on 18th April. This ride will be in association with the Watton Wheelers (of which I am a member).
The area is a mecca for mountain bikers as there's a great variety of technical tracks. Definitely worth travelling for. If you like riding around the Apsley Woods then you will luuvv the North Downs.
Please arrive at the Youth Hostel car park, Holmbury St Mary for 9.30am to be ready to ride before 10am.

M25 junction 10. A3 south (towards Guildford). Second exit - (The first exit is a minor road, whilst you are still on the slip road on to the A3, but there are loos here if you wanted to use them). The second exit is signposted (A247) West Clandon. This takes you through a few villages e.g. Ripley, for several miles. At the roundabout go left (still A247 - signposted West Clandon, which you go through).
At junction with A25 with traffic lights, go straight over which is the A25 to Dorking. Go through Gomshall. At Abinger Hammer, take the right hand turn (opposite tea shop) = B2126, signposted Holmbury St Mary/Sutton Abinger. After a few miles, there is a little turning on the right, signposted Youth Hostel. Up the track to the car park.
The other option is to use the M25 junction 9, then A24 to Dorking, then A25 to Abinger Hammer.
Please let me know if you intend to come along.
It's probably easier to e-mail me directly as I wont get to check the forum very often.

Re: North Downs Ride - Sunday 18th April
There are some great trails in the Peaslake area (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-x-Bo-tZTo). Unfortunately I'll be taking part in the Duston triathlon on the 18th so I won't be there. Just means there will have to be another trip later in the year !!! Right time to get back to ripping up the slopes of val d'issere and Tignes on a snowboard!

Re: North Downs Ride - Sunday 18th April
Hi Folks.
Just to let you know that this Sundays ride is still going ahead.
Hope to see a few of you there.
Should be joined by "Roy the Navigator" and "Rob the map", plus myself and Chrissie have just done a map reading course - so we shouldn't get lost.
Any questions then just send a text..
