Conditions - XC & Single tracks
Hi Guys, I was informed by some MTB folks that recently paid a visit to WS that the single tracks are water logged and XC trails are muddy ... yada yada yada . Obviously, in comparrison to Epping Forest it's only slightly better!
So, giving the freezing weather and hardous M25 / M1 driving conditions, I'm wondering if it's worth driving up to WS or wait for driving and riding conditions to improve!
Can you shed any light on the state of play in WS please?
Much appriciated.

Re: Conditions - XC & Single tracks
Depends where you go
Even when its been raining lots its possible to get a dryish ride at Woburn as some bits drain better than others
Its nice and cold at the moment so most of the muddy bits should be frozen as well I was out newyears day and there wasn't much mud at all.

Re: Conditions - XC & Single tracks
In my experience about 80% of the trails are totally fine. Being sandy it only takes about 2 days of dry weather to drain the worst of it away and with this cold the ground is really firm anyway. There's 2 or 3 trails I can think of that I stay away from at the moment - not that they're unpassable but more 'cos I don't want to wreck them too much come spring/summer.

Re: Conditions - XC & Single tracks
Was all Peachy on Sunday No damper than to be expected and I can't imagine anywhere being much different. Stick to the higher trails and you're not even likely to see any water....
As Jase_MK said, it drains quite well. Even so, I find any mud brushes off really easily with a soft brush afterward once it's dried out.
