club night

Hi,

hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year! This being a new year, and so a new month, it's time for another club night at the george on Tuesday! Should be a good chance to catch up and for some of us to fill in some memories from the Christmas party :S! Also lots of events and racing series are starting to publish event dates so this could be a good chance to start planning a few things !

Did you discuss 2010 rides calendar at the club night?

Not sure if anyone made it to club night as we were just about to leave when the snow came down, so we baled. We shall definitely be organising some trips and will let you all know some dates very soon.

A small hardcore of committed (possibly the padded cell white jacket committed) club members ventured out in the snow to the George and enjoyed the delights of a warm wood burning fire accompanied by a few social beverages. There was one narrow miss with Si attempting a double parking maneuver (Si double parking does not mean parking one car on top of the other). All good fun, however with the limited turnout and much of the conversation covering how heavily the snow was coming down and perhaps someone should put more wood on the fire I'm afraid we didn't manage to expand the upcoming ride calender. There was some mention of a few ideas and hopefully we can get a few things organized.

Feel free to speak up if anyone has any ideas or requests for any trips/events you want to attend (sounds like Fizz is pretty keen about some mucky 8 hour enduro) There should be the inevitable trip to Scotland in the late summer and trips to Afan, Swinley forrest etc. I personally would like to sort out a trip (or several ) to the north downs around Holmbury hill etc, and I would like to try out a few more of the Welsh trail centers. I'm putting together a google calender or mountain biking events for the year at the moment, and hopefully we can get a few groups together for them!

As always there will be plenty of away days/trips that come together over the year.
