WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Hi all
Have used wiggle in the past for stuff, but have had some funny problems...
Ordered some Trailrakers from them after the ride on Sunday.
Then got a rather vague email from them today saying they could not deliver them and that I would have to pay an extra 6 quid for them to try to deliver them again!
Seems like a bit of a scam so I refused and am now in a funny position of having paid for some tyres which I cannot physically have.
Anyway, I need to order the tyres sooner or later, any suggestions for a reputable mail order company...?
Ben

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
I've used Chain Reaction quite a lot lately.
They have been nothing short of bloody great. Stuff always arrives with me the next working day and their prices seem excellent.

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Literally just this moment bought a rear light (Blackburn Mars 3) from them with the priority dispatch option.
I'll let everyone know how it goes. Not had any problems with them in the past tho.

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
I've ordered loads from Wiggle and they have always been reliable and very quick on deliveries.
I've just received some wicked pink and white roadie shoes that match my bike perfectly!!

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Me too, I always choose the free delivery option and the stuff arrives the next day so not sure what the priority despatch offers.
They did send me the wrong tyres once but they were very good about returning them and refunded me the return postage.

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
I've used Wiggle a lot as well, always gone for free delivery and always received the next day.
One of the best online retailers I've ever used along with Chain Reaction.
Hope you get a good resolution.

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Thanks all. It probably is a one-off. Strange, because in the past, they have been really efficient. I'll try chain reaction cycles in future.
I spent a lot of yesterday emailing them. Plus about half an hour waiting on the phone to speak to the courier (who then just told me to contact wiggle again).
To be fair, they are sorting out a full refund for me, so it looks like I will not have lost out. I could actually just reorder the tyres again, but I do not want to go through the same palaver!
BTW, it seems that trailrakers and bontrager mud x tyres are really difficult to find at the moment....

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
hi jim
would say 20 quid for the pair. how does that sound?
the would have to be normal tyres, not tubeless (i have not joined the tubeless revolution yet)

You can still use Tubeless tyres on normal rims.

Dude,
They used to be on my old nuke proof rims,as they were my winter tyres.Until I converted to tubeless.
Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
true, you can use tubeless on normal rims. but they are normally a bit heavier than standard tyres
anyhow, i should not be fussy about this really. not for 20 quid....
interestingly - for a time, i ran a friend's tubeless front michelin tyre (i forget which model) with a tube in and found it amazingly stable and confidence inspiring - just VERY heavy!
jim, i will not be doing the ride this sunday (running race in wellingborough instead), but should be around the weekend after, will keep you posted.

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Received my rear light from Wiggle yesterday - so no issues for me.
Now I've got a rear light, there's very little excuse not to cycle to work and back at least once a week

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
my new year's resolution was to cycle to work twice a week.... in the morning it has been a nice way to wake up but what a pain in the evening!

Re: WARNING: wiggle.co.uk
Done it a few times last year when the weather was ok, but at 20 miles each way, it's something I'm gonna have to build upto as I haven't ridden in over a month
