Its official.....Cyclone has a HUT

We are going to trial using the Woburn Sands Cricket Pavillion as a base for Cyclone to start and finish rides from. Its the same place as where we had the BBQ back in August.



The HUT has a huge SAFE car park, showers, changing rooms, a tea urn !! and an outside tap we can use a power washer with. We think this will be great, especially throughout the winter, no more putting dirty bikes into the car ! It also means we can chill out after a ride and grab a brew and chat.

I'm collecting the key the weekend after next, so the 19th will be the first Sunday using the new start format

So, VERY IMPORTANT.....we will be starting the rides from the HUT from then on, that means we will not start from the car park at the top of Church Road. As we said, its only a trial, and if things work out well, then we will get it for next year.

We will still loop back at 11.00 to pick the later lazy riders up, as it literally takes 2 mins to get into the Aspley woods from the hut.

Another thing to note is that, obviously, the hut is used by the cricket club and also the Aspley football team. The cricketers aren't really an issue, as it Saturdays, however the football team play home games every other week or so, therefore, at some times, we may not be the only ones in the hut, as some of the football straglers may be leaving the hut as we are finishing the ride around 12 ish.

But we'll see how we get on, if we wanted it all to ourselves we could always ride until 12:15 / 12:30. But lets see how we go.

Hopefully the hut will make the winter riders more enjoyable, and make for more of a social after.......

i know i haven't had time to ride recently, but this looks ands sounds great!

I like the idea of powerwashing my bike after a winter ride, and chilling out with a tea too.

Where ecactly is it tho?

Instead of turning right up the hill to the usual meeting place turn right down aspley hill , continue down that round for about a mile and you'll see 2 entrances for the football club and and the golf club, on the left hand side of the road, take the right hand side entrance and follow up the path and you'll come to the car park, its about 150 yds after weathercock lane

it was good starting from the hut and well done for securing the facilities.

some said why dont the 11am start be at the usual place though so we can stay deeper in the woods , and then after if the 11am people want they could then drive to the hut and get refreshed and booyakasha, innit ?

Yes but, no but......you're still then getting into your car dirty with dirty bike....

Its only a trial.....if we don't like it we can revert back to normal after Crimbo....
