Penrith Merida post race report
Mark P and I did the Penrith Merida today, it was hot and sunny! and a severe mudfest at the same time. Half the big climb was not really doable because the grass ascent was like a lumpy wet sponge. Lots of spinning in the granny on the flat not going anywhere fast. Once over the big hill there was a nice high speed rutty muddy descent to wake us up. The second half was better than the first half. I'd like do some more Merida's next year but I don't think I'll do this one again, too boggy and not technical enough...
This was my first Merida so I dunno how my time compares but I did the half (47km) in 3:50.
