GPS and mapping software

Hi all!
After seeing some cool stuff done by others here with GPS and mapping, I thought I'd have a go myself...
I've got a Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 6, a Bluetooth GPS dongle thingy, and I've downloaded the Memory Map software.
Software seems to work ok, and runs fine on my mobile, and I even managed to get it to communicate with the GPS dongle (although no signal - could be 'cos I'm indoors).
So the demo of memory map seems to be working fine for me, but is there any way to try it with a map local to our area? The maps seem kinda expensive, and being a cheapo, I don't really wanna splash the cash and find that I don't like the software.

Ahhh, then you need to compeltely uninstall all the MM versions you currently have. Even the demo / freeshare stuff.
