GMBC 2009 will be held on 20th September and will be a distance of 30 miles as in previous years. The format will be as previous years, a waymarked route through the forest so no map reading skills needed. The event starts at 10:30 and finishes around 4pm. Start and Finish is at the visitor centre in Grizedale Forest, Cumbria.

Polaris Apparel will officially take over as the sponsor of GMBC! This is fantastic news for both organisers and competitors alike. Polaris have a long history of supporting mountain bike events, running their own very successful series for many years.
Click here to go to a detailed map. You can then select the Directions tab, type in your starting postcode followed by Grizedale's postcode (LA22 0QJ) and you will get detailed directions from door to door.

The Polaris Challenge will actually be back in 2009 so watch out for news on that one.

Thank you for making 2008 another great year in the history of GMBC, we all managed to raise a total of £5000 for our two charities!

GMBC 2009 will be held on 20th September and will be a distance of 30 miles as in previous years, NOT 40 as stated on the posters dotted around the region! This seems to be about the right distance for Grizedale; any further and marshaling becomes very difficult as it involves using quite a lot of minor roads. The format will be as previous years, one lap of the forest following the waymarkers so no map reading skills needed. The event starts at 1030 and finishes around 4pm. Start and Finish is at the visitor centre in Grizedale Forest, Cumbria.

Entry forms are now available to download. If you pay online using Paypal there is charge of £1 to cover administration charges.
