i have just reseved this ..
Gore Bike Wear 100 Enduro Challenge 2009
Hot on the heels of our Spring Series will be our Spring Enduro Challenge on Sunday 3rd May at Swinley Forest, Bracknell. The South's long established premier Enduro event has gained a great reputation and a unique feel all of its own. The challenge is not a fixed by time but by the number of laps you choose to ride, either 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7. So do you race or pace, compete against other riders or just the course? It's entirely up to you, but there will be a finisher's medal if you make it, and some great pieces of kit as prizes courtesy of Gore Bike Wear our generous headline sponsor. Gore Bike Wear will also be displaying their range of clothing. There will also be lots of other trade stands to wander around during the day, massage therapists on hand to loosen up leg muscles and ease cramps and all the usual facilities. We've already had a stack of entries, and you can pre-enter online or by post until Tuesday 28th April. There will also be entry on the day at a £3 surcharge.
Gorrick 12:12 Torq in your Sleep 12 hour Enduro 2009
Last year saw our first 12 hour Enduro, and this year it's on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Just like last year it will run from 12 noon to 12 midnight on Sunday 30th August at Minley Manor just 5 minutes from the M3 at junction 4A. Torq are sponsoring the event again and it will be everything that you expect from us and much more! Plenty of trade stands, catering all weekend, showers, massage therapists, that DJ, free overnight camping for those of you who want to chill after the event and prizes and treats galore. ONLINE ENTRY is now open at www.mbsawebsite.com and there is an entry form on the web site too for postal entries. So it's time to enter - do you want to do it solo, or as part of a pair or a team? The good news is that if you want to enter a pair or a team you don't need to confirm all the details now (just your team name), you can sort the riders out later on or on the day, but you do need to get your entry in, as there will be NO ENTRY ON THE DAY. Online and postal entries will close on FRIDAY 21st AUGUST or before that if we're full.
You will find that www.gorrick.com has all the details.

Re: Gorrick Enduro
After a good easter race in wales i am going to do the gorrick 7 laps
We hope you had an eggcellent Easter weekend and are ready to ride off that chocolate as the Final Round of our XC Spring Series headline sponsored by Saddle Skedaddle www.skedaddle.co.uk is this Sunday 19 April at TUNNEL HILL, Pirbright, Mytchett, Hants (our apologies, not Ash Ranges as advertised because the ongoing Army manoeuvres taking place there have run on, and we don't want you dodging bullets). The course has been redesigned from February, and has some awesome new sections for you to enjoy. We've already had a huge pre-entry , so expect some great racing with many Series positions still up for grabs. There'll be prizes from your local mountain bike shops presented throughout the day, plus a chance to win a fantastic mountain bike holiday (for which ALL entered riders over 18 are eligible) in our rider prize draw. We have extended pre entry closure to WEDNESDAY night due to the Bank Holiday (please bring your receipt with you), but entries will, as always, be available on the day. We look forward to seeing you there for the grand finale, and don't forget it's a good time to chat to your mates and sort out your pairs or teams for our 12:12 weekend enduro on August Bank Holiday!
As always, please check the website www.gorrick.com for any final information.

Re: Gorrick Enduro
just an update i got from gorrick
Just to say once again a huge thank you to all of you who took part in this year's Spring Series - you made it our best yet! We were all completely exhausted yesterday, but the considerable number of emails that we received today makes it all worth while - an extra thank you to those riders. You obviously like the fact that we are independent and have been doing our own thing our own way for nearly twenty years.
Now we will be turning our attention to our two upcoming Enduros, the first of which is on the first May Bank Holiday weekend on Sunday 3 May. We will be creating a 10 mile course across the best bits of Swinley Forest and it's up to you to decide how many laps of it you think you can do. It's a personal challenge for you to complete as you wish - fast, middle paced or steady. Every single rider who completes their challenge will receive a medal and those who are fastest will also receive prizes courtesy of our sponsor Gore Bike Wear. There'll be a great atmosphere as well as all the usual facilities and more including massage therapists for your aching backs and legs. If you've not done an Enduro before why not give it a go and use it as a build up to our 12 hour Enduro weekend? ONLINE ENTRY REMAINS OPEN UNTIL TUESDAY 28 MAY otherwise just turn up on the day and enter then.
The Gorrick 12:12 Torq in your Sleep Enduro is our weekend event over the August Bank Holiday weekend Sunday 30 August at Minley Manor, Hants. There'll be 12 hours of riding a magic 8 mile figure of 8 course from 12 noon to 12 midnight. You can do it on your own, as part of a pair or as part of a team of 3 or 4. There'll be a real festival atmosphere aided by that dj and lots, lots more. More about it later, but ONLINE ENTRY IS NOW OPEN. Please note though that there won't be any entry on the day for this event (sorry) and entry will close as soon as it is full.

12:12 TORQ
Team of 3 or 4
(single or mixed gender) 16+ £100
The 12:12 TORQ in your SLEEP enduro returns for the second coming. Remember the times - 12 noon to 12 midnight on Sunday 30th August. Minley Manor is just minutes from the M3 at junction 4A and the course will cover an 8 mile circuit of heathland, beech woods, pine forest and open parkland.
TORQ Fitness are the headline sponsors and it will be everything that you expect from us and more! Plenty of trade stands, catering all weekend, showers, free overnight camping for those of you who want to chill before or after the event from noon on Saturday 29 August right through to 2 pm on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.
Do you want to ride Solo, as part of a Pair or a Team? The choice, as they say, is yours! Most of the race will be during daylight but powerful lights suitable for riding offroad at night will of course be required from about 8pm till midnight. Due to the enduro nature of the event competitors must be aged over 16 years.
so i think it msy be best to get a list of riders together.. who would like to do this Race..........
THERE IS NO ENTREY ON THE DAYDirections
The event is to be held at Minley Warren Fields, Minley Manor, Minley Road, Blackwater, Hants GU17 9UF. The venue is on the A327 less than 1 km from the M3, junction 4A, from where it will be signed. The venue will also be signed from the A30 at Yateley. The venue entrance will be clearly marked and has a post box handily placed for recognition! The venue is not at Minley Manor barracks, Gibraltar barracks or Hawley, so please don’t try to get into them or you may end up on basic training all weekend!! Please respect our neighbours if you enter or leave the site (especially at night) and keep to the speed limit.
Camping and Parking
All camping is free to competitors and supporters, and is available from noon on Saturday 29 August right through to 2 pm on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. There is plenty of trackside camping in both fields with an area set aside for Soloists, but please take care when driving through the fields and remember that this is a military training area, so don’t pick up anything that looks like it may go bang! For safety reasons we need to minimise post event traffic in the camping fields, so if you are not camping, you will be directed to park in the parking field, which is close to the Arena and has areas to park trackside. There will be NO camping in this field. If you want to bring dogs onto the site, please keep them on a lead at all times and clear up any fouling.
There will be drinking water, toilets and showers on site. Please do not clean bikes at the water points but you can bring your Dirtworker if you wish. QUIET TIME on site on Saturday will be from 11.30 pm to 7.30 am and on Sunday from 2 am until 8.30 am, so no generators, loud music or shouting during these times please. For safety EMERGENCY ROUTES must be kept clear at all times, barbeques should be off the ground and open fires are not allowed. Finally, please collect your rubbish and take it home with you or place it in the skips in the Arena.
Registration
Registration opens from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday and from 8.00am to 10.45 am on Sunday for riders’ signatures and the collection of numbers and rider packs. Team and Pair changes (which must be signed for) and confirmations can be made at this time. Teams and Pairs must confirm ALL their riders by 10.45 am on the Sunday - no changes will be allowed after that time. Teams and Pairs will be given a BATON, which must be carried by the rider who is on the course, and can only be handed on to the next rider in the Transition Area.
Event Rules
Team and Pairs riders go out, in relay, in any order and can either change-over after each lap or continue. Team and Pairs riders may only change over in the TRANSITION AREA just after the Lap Finish Point and not anywhere else on the Course or in the Arena. Solo riders can only leave the course at the SOLO Pit Area at the end of the Start straight and must rejoin the course at the SOLO Pit Area. Once you have started a lap, you must complete it without short cutting the route at any point. If you suffer a mechanical problem you must complete the lap, on foot if necessary. Other riders are allowed to support a rider who has suffered a mechanical problem by offering support, parts and equipment but the rider must be self sufficient in carrying out repairs. Please check your bike is in good order before you start and carry spares and tools with you during your lap.
Unsporting behaviour, foul & abusive language, course cutting and cheating will not be tolerated and will result in the exclusion of the Solo rider, Pair or Team. Lights must be fitted to all bikes starting a lap after 7 pm and must be switched on by 8 pm. Please ensure that you have a back up light, as riders not showing adequate light will be instructed to walk.
Start and Finish
The Start will be a mass start with riders on their bikes and the Start Point will be clearly marked. TEAMS AND PAIRS - PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR BATON!! All riders must pass between the Start Boards. The Start time will be 12 noon on Sunday, and the event finishes at 12 midnight. All riders MUST complete the lap they have started up to the Finish Time, so if you pass through the Finish Line before midnight you must complete another lap. All finishers after midnight must dismount and walk through the Finish Line. Winners will be decided by (1) the most laps and (2) by the quickest time. Lurking will be allowed, but riders must respect those who are still racing and keep the course clear.
The course
The course is of mixed terrain, 8 miles in length and yes, it really is a figure of 8!
Changeovers at the Transition – Pairs and Teams
The Transition Area for Pairs and Teams will be alongside the course, just after the lap Finish Point. If you are waiting you should enter the TRANSITION AREA place your bike on the rack, then wait at the fence for your rider to hand over the BATON. If you are on course and changing over you must ride on the left hand side of the course after the lap Finish Point and enter the Transition Area, where you must DISMOUNT. You must then pass your BATON over the fence to the next rider, who should collect their bike from the rack, walk to the Transition Area course exit and join the course. You do not have to dismount through the Lap Finish Point except on a finishing lap.
And Finally…
Riding for 12 hours is not to be taken lightly! Remember to ride at a pace that initially may seem too easy, but holding back early on will pay dividends later when your competitors, who started too fast, are tiring! Ensure that you get into a regime of drinking adequately on every lap – at least one bottle of energy drink - and eat regularly too – little and often is best. There will be some sections of road/fireroad on the course that are long enough to give you plenty of time for refuelling.
Prizegiving
Prize giving will take place just as soon as we get the results sorted, which should be around 1am. There will be trophies and prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each category plus plenty of race number spot prizes on a ‘killer prize draw’ basis, i.e. you must be there to win, if you aren’t, then the prizes will be redrawn.
