| A bloke at work asked me and to be honest I haven't got a clue.
Would a road wheel - 700c fit a standard MTB fork and frame?
I know/think the 700c wheel is 27" but the tyre has a lower profile so the outer circumference might be the same as a 26" MTB wheel/tyre combi.
Also would the holes drilled at the top of the fork and between the rear stays actually fit road calipers? |

| Yes - in fact Mavic do a 700c wheel with discs for precisely that reason.
I'm not sure normal brakes would line up though.

| | How about putting slick tyres on mountain bike wheels. There's a good selection of tyre out there ! |

| It's an option. I guess the idea of going to 700c would be to drastically reduce the rolling width of the tyre/wheel which would reduce wheel weight and tyre size. |
