| Anyone know how tight the bolts on my rear cartridge hub need to be? I know with cone / balls you have to adjust carefully, is it the same for cartridge bearing? Or do you just 'nip' 'em up?
I ask, because mine keep coming loose without me noticing. Can't be good for the bearings if I ride it like that. Can I safely swing on the bolts like a monkey so they won't come undone? (probably not)
Thanks, Tom |

| Top, it doesn't matter like it does with cones. I hae cartridge bearings in my Crossmax, and I tichten them uo tight, but don't hang off them. If I over tighten them, you can feel that the bearings are restricted.
Have a good ride tomorrow.

| Cheers for that Nath.
Seem to have got it working at the moment, it's a bit tighter than I would like, but it wobbles otherwise. Anyway, they lasted the ride, can't ask for more! I suspect they're wearing out - the shop implied something BIG was wrong with the hub, when I had the bearings changed recently. Oh well!
*wanders over to ChainReaction to see if they sell red-rims*
Think I'll sell 'em on flea-bay before they die completely.

P.s. - the shirt is great by the way! Cheers Nath. |
