How about some localish rides, not so much away trips, more an alternative to Woburn or as ‘fillers’ for months when no trips are planned. I’m thinking:

Ashridge/Whipsnade: Loads of riding round there. If you start at Dunstable Downs it only takes 20mins to drive there. I’m sure Iain must know some routes round that way.

Stokenchurch (aka Russ Pinder route): 30 mile loop, 90% off road. About a 35 min drive from MK.

Millbrook/Chicksands loop: Starting from Woburn, Nath knows this like the back of his hand.

There's supposed to be a good ride at Christmas common which is supposed to be brilliant, but probably not winter friendly, likewise Aston Hill, also havent Thetford opened a new red route that's good too

I'll be looking to organise something over the August Bank Holiday weekend to either the Brecons or the Lakes.

I love you

I'm not sure if all the trails are listing but there a fair few here http://www.moredirt.co.uk/uk_trails.php

One thing with the lakes or the brecons August bank holiday is it will be full of people mincing about

Scotland, still more to ride up there! - Kielder Forest etc etc
Lake District, could be a good long weekend, lots of challenging hills, on and off road and an oportunity to practice carrying your bike Wink
Wales of course, Ferndale and the new members induction weekend!
Local rides out side of MK could be good, any thing in the Dunstable area?

Is some one going to capture all of these ideas and put them into the 2008 calendar? I need to plan any time off work this year.

How about making some regular rides. E.g like the cafe ride, we do a three hour ride once a month. The Millbrook loop is a good 2 / 3 hour ride. We could do the Ashridge loop which, again, is a 3 hour loop.

I'd certainly be up for longer rides day-tripped from MK once a month:
Christmas Common - I have a 35m MBR"Epic" in the area on tracklogs
The Peaks can be day-tripped from MK
Skill training day with AQR or similar
Sherwood Pines - loads of singletrack but we'd need a local guide
Malborough country
Thetford

Weekends:
Wales
Yorkshire Dales
Forest of Dean
