Subject: Anyone got a Kids Trike for sale ? Fri Jul 13, 2007 5:03 pm

I'm looking fer a Trike for my 3 yr old nephew.
He's got a bike with stabilisers but its still a bit big and he doesn't use it.
Better to get him pedalling on something rather than nothing.
Doesn't need to be full XTR spec , more like Playdough spec..
My Mum wants to get one for him , but she's in trouble for spoiling him with new toys, so preferably nothing too shiny lol.
Anything out there ?

Dude, just thought I'd mention it...

The trike that I my lad passed onto his sister had the pedals directly under the seat like a standard bike (not on the front wheel) and a chain drive to the rear. I reckon this helped him get the hang of a real bike with stabilisers a bit easier. It's also easier to pedal so getting the miles is more fun. It made the bike marginally more expensive but only by a tenner. I definately recommend this style over front wheel drive.

Front Wheel Drive is rubbish really innit. How can you pedal on full lock and use all that inherent stability of the trike at low speeds.
Rear wheel drive means he might turn it into a bike when he picks up a rear in fast corners if he gets the hang of it hehe.
<mind now thinking of limited slip diff arrangement for kids trike lol>
